Sacred Solitude
"Jesus withdrew to a solitary place to pray."
— Mark 1:35
Lord,
In the constant tumult of my social life, messages, and demands, I sometimes need solitude. Not the imposed loneliness that isolates, but the chosen solitude that restores.
Teach me to give myself these moments of withdrawal, without guilt. Those times when I find myself alone with myself, with You, with silence. Those necessary breaths that allow me to recenter.
In solitude, may I hear my inner voice often drowned out by noise. May I find that deep peace that comes when we stop fleeing and simply remain present to ourselves and to You.
Amen.

Reflection
Chosen solitude is not isolation. It is an appointment with yourself and with God. When can you give yourself this time?
For those who fear solitude and those who endure it painfully.
