Compassion

"Be kind and compassionate to one another."

— Ephesians 4:32

God of compassion,

Every day I pass so many people carrying invisible burdens, hidden sufferings, inner battles. Too often, I pass by without seeing, preoccupied with my own concerns.

Open my eyes to the suffering of others. Give me a compassionate heart that can see beyond appearances, that senses the pain behind the forced smile, that feels the silent call for help.

May my compassion not be just a passing feeling but translate into concrete actions. Attentive listening, faithful presence, help offered without waiting to be asked.

Amen.

Reflection

Compassion begins with attention. Today, really look at the people you encounter. Who seems to need a smile, an encouraging word?

For all those who suffer in silence and feel invisible.
