Making Amends
"First go and be reconciled to them."
— Matthew 5:24
Father of reconciliation,
I have made mistakes, hurt people, caused harm. Sometimes intentionally, often through negligence. These wrongs weigh on my conscience and damage my relationships.
Give me the courage to repair what can be repaired. To acknowledge my wrongs, to offer sincere apologies, to make amends. Not to rid myself of guilt, but out of respect for those I have hurt.
Help me understand that repairing does not always erase the harm done, but it is a necessary gesture. May I humbly ask for forgiveness and, when possible, correct my mistakes.
Amen.
