A Spirit of Service
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve."
— Mark 10:45
Father,
I can easily focus on my own needs, my own desires, my own projects. But You call me to a broader view, to a life of service.
Cultivate in me a spirit of service. Not a service that exhausts or denies me, but one that springs from a generous heart. The pleasure of contributing, helping, making others' lives easier.
May I see the opportunities to serve around me: a helping hand to give, listening to offer, a skill to share. May my life be useful to others, not just to myself.
Amen.

Reflection
How could you serve someone today? A small service, offered generously, can transform a day.
For all those who serve with dedication and discretion.
